Rene Nielsen

Rene is a writer and public speaker and a former Paralympian athlete, competing mainly in the pentathlon events. He lost his legs in a train accident that left him “half a man” – as he says. However, he decided to be a full man. The strength and vision he gained on his way back, drove him to the top of paralympic sports. During the Paralympic Summer Games at Sydney in 2000 he won a Gold Medal in the Javelin through, a Silver Medal in the Shot Put and a Bronze Medal in the Pentathlon. Four years later during the games at Athens he won two Bronze medals in the Pentathlon and the Shot put. As a public speaker and renowned author he shares his experiences with the Danish public.
